We cover the full production cycle: Planning (pre-production), Shooting (production) and Editing (post-production)

Hands-on Training

Work with professional video and audio equipment to capture interview footage and B-roll then edit your footage in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Industry Best Practices

Shot lists, storyboards, permits and model releases are covered. The course culminates in a screening and feedback session for your work-in-progress short film.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring my own camera?

No. All video production equipment is provided. All the video production fundamentals taught in this course can be applied to any camera that you own or rent.

How does the editing portion of the class work?

Everyone will get a chance to edit their own version of the group film project from the footage that you shoot during the second session. You'll need to provide your own laptop with Adobe Premiere Pro installed. A full breakdown of the system requirements for Premiere Pro is provided in the first section of the course.

What kind of videos will I be able to create after taking this course?

This course is designed to give you a framework for creating any kind of small budget film. The hands-on production work is focused on documentary interview and B-Roll but the tools and techniques can be applied to narrative, social media marketing, music videos and more!

How do I keep practicing what I've learned after the class?

Great question! This course is an amazing first step on your journey but it is up to you to keep pushing yourself to expand your creative comfort zone. That's why the Bonus Materials for this course include practical, bite-sized activities that you can fit into even the busiest schedule. We also offer Office Hours and equipment rental so you can access the accountability and gear you need to blast through any creative blocks. We strongly encourage you to connect and collaborate with your classmates outside of class time to expand your creative network and build your portfolio.
